97 was the last year of the 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern, the 99 and up have a metric bolt pattern.

[/ QUOTE ]Thanks BlueMule, how far back does the pattern go?Thanks.

The 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern has been the standard bolt pattern back a long ways. for 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups. At least back to the 1960's when 8 lugs were getting more common.

Careful if you order online...

Knew someone who ordered wheels for a LD F-250... and they were different.

I've heard that vans still use the 6.5's.

Re: What year wheels fit 97 F-250 ?

I recently got a set of excursion wheels for free and had them machined and steel inserts pressed in to convert them to 8 on 6.5 pattern. 99-up wheels are everywhere and the cost to modify them was about $200.

That is very interesting crossent. I may be interested in checking that out.

What kind of place put the inserts in, and what kind of machining was there to do?

Re: What year wheels fit 97 F-250 ?

those wheels look great on your truck...Where did you have it done?? There are a couple of posts a week it seems like asking if "SD Wheels Fit on an OBS?" So I think this is something a lot of people will be interested in.

Re: What year wheels fit 97 F-250 ?

Thats a great alternative and opens up lots of options.Any concerns with weakening the rim and/or balancing issues? Good looking vehicle.
