After about 4 hours of wrestlin' with the cat, my new DP and test pipe are in place.
The converter was stuck so good that it took heat + slitting the pipe + bracing the exhaust with a hi-lift + a come-along + a 4 lb. sledge.
Looking through the catalyst, my hunch was confirmed; it was just about plugged up. I'm off to get cleaned up then go for a test drive.

You trying to tell me that the guy who charged me $75 to install my 3 inch downpipe, cat eliminator and 4 inch system on my 97 F250 EC did me a deal? I thought so. I was happy, and am happy.

Yup, you got a deal. I look at it this way - I may have saved a lot of frustration and head scratching to have somebody else do it (and I doubt for as cheap as you did!!!!), but spending a couple of days wrenching on my truck didn't feel so bad.
