AlanB's little, ole truck is not the fastest or the quickest or the prettiest, but when it turned 100K today it was pulling approximately 17,000 down I-25 at 75 mph at 1000 EGTs (gotta love that Tapercore ). And, yes, so far (LOL) it is still the original motor.
The really cool thing is that we can unhook the camper at the house, drive on down to Bandimere and pump out a 13.8 on #2 only at 6000 foot elevation time after time after time again all in the same day, and still make it to the kid's soccer games tomorrow morning. AND it's paid for (that I like best).
That is quite a feat in all reality. High powered truck that does it all and holds up to it on the original motor with only bolt ons. Score one for the Powerstroke.

100,000 is just getting broke in. You should have MANY MILES to go. Just keep your fluids changed at good intervials and you should go a long way. My 97 F-350 CC SWD 4x4 hit 228,000 today and still running strong. I have replaced the water pump @ 216,000, replaced the Fuel Pump, and Starter @ 225,000, and I just replaced the Vacuum Pump for the second time @ 227,500. I do not remember when the first time was. It was somewhere around 150,000. Ans of course I have had to change a few GP, and the GPR twice, but nothing major. And to boot, I am still on the FACTORY CLUTCH AND DM FLYWHEEL. I do a lot of pulling too. I pull my Pace 24ft. 10,000 GVW trailer all around, and all different sizes of air compressors which wieght any where from 4,500lb, to 12,000lb. The Clutch might go tommorrow, but I feel I have gotten my money's worth. I am now in the planning stages to go with some extra add on's now she is broken in good.

You are right painter, for a "normal" stock or slightly modded truck 100K is just getting broke in.
But, Alan has run his truck hard and added quite a bit of HP and TQ. He runs it on the racetrack, sled pulls, drives the pee outta it and pulls the 5th wheel (ours is very heavy) and boat.
He is still on his original engine with original rods. Really all his mods are bolt on mods. He did do headstuds this last time he had the engine out to install his ASB turbo, but that is it. And, hey, we know we are probably pushing it, but I think that Alan has done his mods pretty smart and has also probably been a bit lucky too.
All in all, it is a pretty good feat that this motor has held together this long, with the abuse it gets. We will see how much longer she holds. We were actually pretty sad to see it turn 100, as we were pretty proud of our low mileage OBS.
I bet you are glad that she is still holding together. That is one thing that I do not do with my stoke F-350. And that is baby her. When I pull, I pull her hard. I try my best not to let any Dodges get past me. I guess that is how I got my last ticket in Missippi doing 90 mph. Mr. State Trooper was not happy with me. I had ole Blue in the wind with a load of Bridge Bearings going to the plant. I am planning a few little mods to mine and I just hope that it does not make mine take a plunging dive. All I want to do is to place a Tymar air intake, a 3.5" Down Pipe, 4" Exaust, and a chip. Just give me a few more ponies, and a little smoke, like a diesel should. By the way Shay B. I see in your profile down at the bottom it says

Sounds like you have chosen some pretty safe mods painter, but remember, nothing is totally safe. I've seen many a truck spit a rod out with just a chip. Tuning is huge. Give Tony Wildman a call when you are ready for a chip. I'm constantly telling him, "just don't blow up my truck Tony". LOL, he hasn't yet. LOL.
And I warn you, this modding is something that once you start, it is hard not to go further and further and further. Only the wallet dictates how far and sometimes we don't even listen to that. Once you get a little power, you want more.

Only?? I think that was a pretty good feat too Terry. I know how you are on your truck too.
You're like Alan, you take good care of it, but there's not very much you won't do with it or try on it.
