Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
I believe this has been brought up in the past, but as usual the "search" feature has always been a problem for me to get results.
I believe GOS Racing sold them, but after leaving them an e-mail some time ago, with no response, I thought I would try to see if you folks may remember who it is that sells these, and what they might cost?
Links would be helpful if you have them. I believe the higher watt bulbs can then be used once this kit is installed.

Just a thought if you wire up two relay's per light and DIY it only costs a few bucks, I looked into those harnesses and they wanted for an APC one like $60.

That's true you can do the harness cheaper..but...the APC harness also comes with a pair of heavy duty sockets that can take the higher heat and wattage of after market bulbs or bulbs that run both elements as in a bright box setup. That was the reason I went with the APC. If you could get the heavy duty headlight sockets cheap too then you would definitely have a winner.

Yeah, your right on the sockets, would be nice to get ahold of a heavy duty set for cheap, I havent had any problems with the sockets yet w/ the DIY relay system, though I am sure in the future there will probily be a problem of burning them out.
Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
Does the APC harness leave the low beams on with the highs and supply more voltage to lights or just more voltage to lights?
Chris

Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
Chris,
The APC harness will "allow" a higher voltage because there is less/no voltage drop due to resistance. The wire size is bigger and direct from the battery. No the APC harness does not cause both filaments to come on on high beam, you have to use a diode ($.75) to do that, and it works great. If you follow the link I supplied earlier and read Big K's posts and look at the pictures in his sig. you will see how it is done.
Here is a quote from the one to read [ QUOTE ]
This is the setup I am running and been running for a while.
Diamond Headlight Buckets, (Over a Year and a Half)
APC 9007 Headlight Harness, Part #509106, (About 2 months Now)
and APC 80/100 Xenon Super White, (About a Month Now)
A few more pics here also
Also, I have a Diode on the unused stock headlight bulbs connector from the high to the low, So when the Highs come on the Lows Stay on!
I have probably been thru about 10 or so Set of Headlight bulbs before I found some I have liked. Ya name it, I have tired it, (expect expensive PIAA's )

Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
Dale,
I did get your e-mail and I did respond. I just checked my 'sent' list and did go, oh well sorry about that.
We just started building our own upgraded harness for trucks using the 9007 bulbs. These use a hight temp plastic for the connectors and have a replaceable fusible link for protection.
These are now complete and will start shipping tomorrow, let us know if we can help. JS.
Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
Rick,
When you install the diode do you put it in each of the old sockets or just one of the old sockets?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
Chris,
You will have one un-used old (stock)socket, put it there. I put the relays and the connection to the battery on the passenger side, so that left the driver's side socket un-used and where I put the diode. Here is a picture from Big K diode install , and here is his excellent write-up Big K article

Re: Who is it that sells the upgraded wiring kit for higher watt headlight bulbs?
What's the difference between the APC (p/n 034-509106, @ Jegs for $40 w/ shipping), and yours (@ $52 w/ shipping)?
I don't mind paying a little more as long as I get more for that money.
