Who's got the best kit for a intercooler?

I came home from work today and found that I was one intercooler heavier in the garage. My dad found one out of a powerstroke for free. Only problem is, is that I don't know what year it's from. Before I drop some coin on this I want to know if i got a cooler that's going to work. The inlet and outlet are made of that black compsite instead of the cast aluminuim. Plus the mounts look a little different than than the other cast ends that I've seen. Am I stressin over nothing or is this something I can possibly work with? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a 6.0 ic, it will work well (33% bigger than stock sd intercooler). GTS Motorsports makes a good kit to go with a superduty intercooler. Pics in my sig of 6.0 ic installed on my '96.

Re: Who's got the best kit for a intercooler?

I'm using the regular aluminum tanked I/C, but believe the composite is just as good.
You can get anything you need for the install as mentioned, from Geoff at GTSmotorsports.
He also has information on his site on how to do the install, as well as he sells the kit for a full install on our early Powerstrokes.

You can find him here GTSmotorsports and then click the "Ford" link on the left.

They switched to plastic in 01, I think. You could have a 7.3 IC. I made my own pipe kit, pretty simple.
