Hey folks, I've read all the threads about swapping a Dana 60 for a D50, but before go pick it up, I want to make sure. I found a D60 from a 89 F350 diesel 4x4 that had a cab & engine fire. This should be a king pin unit, right? It's complete from caliper to caliper (w/springs, too). Will this fit my 97 F-250 HD PSD 4x4?
I haven't found out for sure if the D60 has 4.10s, (my 97 does). Does any one know the code for 4.10s if the tag is still on it?
I think that I can get the front drive shaft, too - will it mate to my transfer case?
Am I missing anything?

get the trac bar and bracket too, it will fit perfect, like it was made for your truck. If you get the driveline, get the yoke off the transfer case too, or it wont fit. The tag on the diff should say somewhere on it either 3 55 or 4 10, if there is an L between the numbers, its limited slip, but i would expect that on the front, only the rear.

I would definately get the front drive shaft and yoke as Dustin said. The F-250 uses a single u-joint, where the F-350 uses a double cardian (sp?) (CV) joint. There are some threads out there that will detail how to mate the F-350 shaft to the f-250 t-case. I would have to dig for that tho..

Its simple, just take the yoke nut off the t-case remove the yoke and install the new, check the seals while you are at it. the F-250 driveshaft is slightly longer, due to the short D50 housing, but it susceptible to vibrations at high speeds, i get one if i leave the hubs locked in above 55, but i kept the 250 driveline, because i am lifted, and wanted the extra length

Check the t-case seals? My D50's condition isn't absolutely desperate - (yet), so I intend to check the D60 over (someplace warm)before I put it in.
Does the yoke fit on a splined shaft - do the transfer cases all have the same output shaft?
I'll look at the website and see if I can answer some of my own questions....

the t-case should have a seal behind the yoke, if not, my bad. i am pretty sure they have the same output shaft on them
