Re: workhorse module

Still sounds like an overblown 10k mod to me (only my opinion, though). Cheers!

Re: workhorse module

To increase the fuel rail pressure on PSDs you really increase the high pressure oil rail pressure. That's what the 10k mod does. They claim to be using a microprocessor to do this but that is an overkill for our engines. I do everything they describe with one transistor and a hand full of resistors. The price is outrageous. Read the add carefully. The power and mileage claims are "up to" not that you get at least that much. Increasing injection pressure does add more fuel and can increase EGT but probably not on a stock OBS Powerstroke because the HPOP isn't capable of providing that much oil. Save your money. A good chip producing the power they claim will increase power without producing excessive EGT or smoke.

This is my opinion. You can take it or ignore it. I do not care.

Re: workhorse module

The workhorse module deals with injection pressures. I sat down and talked to a company in my home town that sold workhorse modules and workhorse modules only and timing and pulsewidth was greek to them. If you are looking for hp and mpg I would talk to TWilman or DP, they have a very strong grasp on more of the variables ie: pulse width, timing, cp's, and injection pressure.

Re: workhorse module

Also talk to DI. David can make some mean burns. I wouldn't mess with any of thouse plug in modules. No matter what more fuel = more heat.

Re: workhorse module

There is almost no way to get 80 more HP out of stock injectors at the rear wheels, unless you use drugs maybe. Our stock injectors can't get that much fuel out.

Re: workhorse module

Just as a note, my local deisel performance shop recently did a test on various procducts, and the Bully Crap, gave the least power increase, with the highest overall egts. Not what you want for towing!! I would take CaryT's advice, and call Tony and get him to burn you a chip. Convinience is not wirth it in this case, plus Tony will reburn the chip for free if you do not like the initial set of tunes. Plus, his new programms have really made my tranny shift well. It will keeo my truck in the power band and does a great job of tuning for towing!! Just my recommendation! Colin

Re: workhorse module

I doubt you'll find much against Tony's chips. Just my opinion but a 6 pos chip is overkill for a OBS powerstroke with stock injectors. 4 is plenty in my opinion ...... I mostly use only 2 pos. on mine.

Re: workhorse module

Nothin wrong with a 6 POS for a stock psd. You could have no start, high idle, Daily Driver, Tow, Econo, Extreme Just a suggestion. Its all preference.
