Re: Worth it for an 18k mod

I ordered this same 18k mod last night and I did some searching before I bought it and it seems to be the same 18k mod that blackcloud sales. The only thing I found that wasn't the same between the two is the price $109 from blackcloud and only $40 from dieselclatter (ebay).

Haha. My thoughts exactly.

It's rumored that Black cloud used to get their stuff from this place....I'm still contemplating buying one. Just don't like the idea of tapping into factory wiring with the scotch lock provided....

Re: Worth it for an 18k mod

you guys kill me....

Its a 10k mod in a pretty box.

You can make the same yourself, and if you dont like the scotch lok connector, then you can get the correct male and female fittings from NAPA.

GM part number 10096181 3-wire coolant temp sensor for a 1993-1997 GM LT1/LT4 motor
GM part number 12102748 Connector pigtail (incl. terminals)

Butcher the brass temp sensor off the connector, solder the pigtail to it, and then do all your wire cuts to the new pigtail, instead of your factory wires.

By The Way!!!

94-97 trucks do not respond as well to the 10k mods as the 99+ trucks do. You guys dont have the fuel pressure or HPOP pressure to deliver what the 10k mod is asking for.

Yes it does help a little (30-40 hp?), but not the 100hp ratings these guys are claiming!! In fact, even a 99+ superduty is limited by the fuel and oil pressures, and I highly doubt even they can get the 100hp rating.

Re: Worth it for an 18k mod

They actual tell you that in their ad about the 94-97 will only see 30 to 40hp.

So you spent about $20 and had to do all this custom work and I'm paying $40 and I only have a couple of wire's to tie in. My time is worth the extra $20 that I spent on it.
