yet more zf swap questions

Im doing my 5 spd swap at the end of next week. Im just thinking about the cruise control..I know i need to get a new computer/get it reflashed. But how will the computer know to idle the motor when i push the clutch or when i take it out of gear?

Does it assume that if you take it out of gear, you have pushed the clutch?

Also, for my 97, what safety switch do i need for the pedal?

thanks!

There is a switch on the clutch pedal just like on the brake pedal (you will have to add it as part of your conversion).

As for safety switch on the pedal are you talking brake or clutch pedal? They both have one on a manual tranny.

clutch pedal. How does it know when to shut the cruise control off i mean? I thought the clutch switch only opened when the pedal was all the way down for starting.

Do you have a p/n for what i need? thanks

I am in the process of doing this swap right now, as far as I can tell the switch for the clutch is built into the Master cylinder. The wires that plug into the master cylinder are already under the dash with a cover on them. I will let you know what I find when I get it finished this week or next.
