1992 F-250 7.3 Rear-end ratios w/manual OD trans

I haven't crawled under this thing to look for a diff tag or anything, but is there a "standard" ratio that this truck came with? I Just got it, and it is geared for when the speed limit was 55MPH. Has anyone here gotten different gearing for the rear-end on one of these, and how much to expect $$$$ for it?

Replaced O-rings on return line caps with Viton. Now on to tackling Biodiesel!!

No standard ratio, probably 3.73 or 4.11. If the tag on the rear axle is still present, it has the axle ratio on it. It will be under 2 of the cover bolts on the right side. They usually rust up pretty bad, but you can read them by taking them off and looking at the mirror image of the stamp on the back.

If not, there is an axle ratio code on the door sticker. Post the code and someone will tell you the ratio.

You may just not be used to the noise of the diesel engine. I drive around all day with 4.11 gears and NO overdrive.

I'd like to install something like 3.07 gears or something like that. With that "creeper" 1st gear in this thing it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not going to be pulling anything; just traveling a lot and would like to cruise at 70-75mph at optimal mpg rpm's.

I just went through the process of trying to get 3.08 gears put in my 88 F250. In my case, It couldn't be done because of the front differential. You can get it done for the Ford 10.25 but you will not be able to find gears if you have a Dana 50 or 60 in the mix anywhere. I ended up getting 3.54 gears, but that will slow the engine some compared to the 4.10 that was in there.

Forgot to mention mine is 2WD.... 3:07 is the gear-set for that particular rearend? Sounds perfect for what I want; a better highway cruising.
