I looking at a 1992 f-250 with a 7.3L its not a turbo. Is there anywhere I might be able to look at the standard specs. ex. mpg, towing, horsepower? I drive a 2001 7.3 right not but I'm looking at this to haul a tractor around, so it would be driven around just about every week day. What do you think?
thanks
Richard

if your haulin a tractor around you might not want the truck if it is a 5-speed with a 3:55 rear end. you can do it but its hard on the clutch. a 4:10 rear end is better for towin. if it is an automatic 4:10's would be good also. if it is stock and a 5-speed 3:55 rear end it will get around 21mpg w/ a single straight pipe and if a 4:10 rear end it will get about 14 w/ a single straight pipe. (not sure on mpg w/ a muffler) my truck (in sig) get 14.1mpg w/ duel straights and ram air intake. Ip is turned up pretty far. you can make the truck a bad ass tractor yanker with a little biut of time and not so much money. a straight pipe or glass pack would help it "breath" better, along w/ a ram air set up and the injection pump turned up a just about all the way. you just have to take care of it. change oil, coolant, rear end oil, tranny oil and all filters if oyu do buy it. be sure to use a coolent w/ SCA's (precharged) FleetCharge is a good brand from TractorSupply. a good 15w-40 oil is good for these engines. you can use a powerstroke (94-97) oil filter for better filltration too. good luck....................Gibson

also, the horsepower isnt very much but it is enough to do the work. hills are a problem with these motors. but it will pull naything you want it to. i ahve seen the n/a7.3/6.9 pull 30K pounds. had a some trouble but it did it. persopnally i avent towed over 24K. fuel milage is somewhat low. 10-11 (keep in mind i have a low rear end) its screamin at 2600 rpm's goin 70 mph..................Gibson
