1992 f250 fuse panel

i need to remove the fuse panel (lower left side of steering colum).do i have to remove most of the dash and do all the wires at the back of the panel unplug some place under the dash

Can we ask why you are wanting to do that removal. I'm not aware of a any major wire connector to disconnect the fuse box only...... but then I have not had to.

Like most Ford connection wires they can be released from the connector (fuse box) and replaced by inserting a new wire/end and soldering the wire together.

i had a short in the interior light and we had smoke in the cab of the truck(should have let it burn to the ground).the fuse melted and the wires behind the panel are shot.now i have ne speedo or radio.i want to take the panel out so i can run the wire from the old fuse to one that is not in use.i got a new light switch off of my parts truck

wow that suks i guess i got lucky when mine fried it wasnt that high up
well i think it got screws on it on opposite corners and it should be finessed out though between the metal that it screws to and the dash (those clips for the fuse cover suck)
and you should have access but idk how far it pulls out i saw that and said no way im doing it lol

Make sure the light switch and connector are in Vgood condition.... a known fire hazard. Most change both connector and switch.....

i tried to run a new wire off of the one that burnt but the wire kept braking. does anybody know where the wire fron fuse #8 go to so i can run a new wire?? i have no speedo/radio,if i keep driving it with no speedo can i screw up the tranny??

ok i got it fixed.i ran a (+) wire from fuse #5(which was not in use) to the head light switch and now have speedo/stereo
