1993 7.3L IDI N/A Air Intake Question

Hey, this weekend I'm picking up a '93 F250HD w/7.3L IDI N/A 200K mi's, and I noticed it has a round air intake filter, and I was just wondering if K&N or other companies make an aftermarket version as a replacement, or even better a CAI product, and if so, do these improve performace/mpg any, if at all? I've yet to get my hands on this truck yet to tinker with anything, but I've been doing some serious research here about what I'll do to it upon getting it. One thing I need to get too is all the fluid weights, amount needed, and what brands you guys recommend too. Thanks

Hopefully someday I'll be looking into a turbo system

I've got a k&n filter on my truck, doesn't make any difference, you just don't have to replace it ever. But you do have to clean it, which is a giant messy pain, and i thought about tossing it this summer because I have no where to clean it except my driveway. You spray cleaner on it and then hit it with a hose, and all that cleaning spray and oil isn't good going down the sewer into the river...

By chance do you know the K&N Part number for our trucks? The local advance auto didnt have the one that matched up in the cross reference book. By any chance can these trucks have a cai installed? Thanks for the help, can't wait to get this truck after reading and seeing everyone else's rides. I'll get pics up asap this weekend and an intro post, with my plans and questions, etc.

Most people don't bother to upgrade the round filter, they upgrade the whole intake... which also provides no performance improvement. I just hate having to mess with the stock filter arrangement when I want to adjust or inspect anything.

What sort of intake upgrades are offered? Aftermarket or custom-designed? Even if it doesn't change performance I still want to clean up the engine bay a bit and something with a custom touch would help it stand out better.

The cai on that site said it only fits the 1994+ diesels (powerstrokes) so the only option was old style. Oh well guess ill have to wait and see what I can do with it this weekend.
