1993 F250 Turbo - Where to find stock intake and housing?

I just got a 1993 F250 IDI Factory Turbo. The turbo was replaced a year or two ago by previous owner, but he didn't have, or didn't put back, the air intake that goes from the air inlet to the front of the truck.

What's my best bet for finding a replacement for this ?

Thanks,
BD

I use the aluminum dryer vent hose from any chain hardware store. You really don't want the standard hose because its really too restrictive.

Really? How does that fair considering the heat in the engine compartment? Also, if you go that route, how does it mate up to the front end?

Look under the drivers side battery. That area is where you form the aluminum vent hose to. Some members even cut out that area for more air. Your right about the hot air in the engine compartment. It doesn't help the motor breath any but if its cold air then it helps. Really the best place for an air induction place would be just below the windshield. That area has plenty of compressed air in it. Thats where NASCAR pulls there air from and yes I know they are running faster but its the same principal on any windshield. How does the aluminum hose fair in the hot conditions?

Also what size tube do you use? What's the inlet size??

It can handle the underhood heat easily. I have been running it for a few years no. No problems and its easy to make fit around all the differant items.

Is that 3" tubing?

Also did you use a flange of some sort to hold it in place at the front of the vehicle?

Are you looking for just the intake tube or the filter housing too? I have both that I'd sell, but won't split them apart since they are already boxed together in my folk's garage 2500 miles away from me. If interested, shoot me a PM.

Re: 1993 F250 Turbo - Where to find stock intake and housing?

I used 3" PVC pipe to make an intake all the way from the turbo inlet to the cone-type air filter at the other end. Works nicely. Now I just need to make a little box to ensure that only cool air is drawn in, and not underhood air.
I also wrapped the PVC pipe with 'headerwrap' that my buddy got for free from work, and wrapped that with aluminum duct tape to make sure it doesn't unravel. Looks like a giant baked potato under the hood.
