460 gasser in an IDI

Ok, before you guy's tell me Im crazy I have a few question's.
1. I assume I can drop a 460 gasser in a truck that has an IDI in place, what mount's and crossmember do I need?
2. What tranny ( automatic ) should I use? Keep in mind I need OD.
3. Driveshaft?
4. Do I need to change the wiring harness? I would be using MSD ignition but will everything else be ok,like abs?
5. It would be a carb. engine so Im sure I need to flush the tank's and such. Any info on this swap?
Don't panic, Im not doing this to the truck in my sig, although I am still fighting brake problems with that one!! I found another truck and the drivetrain is wasted,I have a killer 460 built for a truck and this look's like a prime candidate for it so Im thinking about it.

Re: 460 gasser in an IDI

460 mounts and frame brackets, 80 up oil pan and pickup tube, dipstick and tube. 460 e4od trans. the rear will bolt up and the wiring will be fine, just hook the inj pump wire to the msd and go. Been there done that.

Re: 460 gasser in an IDI

I don't think you're crazy at all.

I agree with the above post on all points.

I don't think I'd go so far as to "flush" the tanks. Just drain them empty, blow the lines out with air and fill full of gasoline. The residual diesel should mix in with the gas fine.

The E4OD's computer is not going to play well with your new engine unless you can feed it a TPS and tach signal. You might have to go with an aftermarket standalone computer.
