"4psi electronic lift pump continued" (need keep on truckin's expertise)

ok, i followed keep on truckin's suggestion and installed clear superthane fuel line all over under my hood. i also took out that stupid 4 psi lift pump from napa, because with the clear fuel lines i could see that it was letting in air there. the truck is running now, but i am still getting air into my system randomly when it is switched to veggie.

my system is lined up as follows:

when on diesel: fuel filter, to pollack valve, to lift pump, up through turned off vegtherm, into the ip, and then (returns back to the tank through the pollack valve i think)

when on veg: vormax veg filter, to pollack valve, to lift pump, up through vegtherm, into ip, returns to pollack valve and then the veggie return line to the veggie tank is teed so that it also loops back into the pollack valve.

well, when i randomly get air in the veg system it surges a bunch, and i can see lots of air, and the air is coming from the pollack valve, but then it will go away after a bit. it is really wierd.

do you think this could be caused by not changing the inner smaller gasket on the fuel filter/water seperator that is connected to the vormax hot plate for filtering the veg oil? because it seems like the air is getting into the veg system at the pollack valve, or before it.

thanks in advance for your time peoples.

The only thing I can tell you for sure is that air intrusions happen in the parts of the fuel system that are under vacuum: before the lift pump. Since you only notice the problems when on VO I would start by carefully checking all of your connections on the VO intake side of your system, starting at the connection to your 3-way valve. Did you use hose barbs and worm gear clamps for your connections? I have found that greasing connections like these with just a tiny bit of whatever grease is available will help these seal better. Also, check to make sure you haven't overtightened your clamps and cut a hole in a hose under the clamp. Check to make sure your VO filter cartridge is screwed on tightly. Several people on this forum found out they had to tighten the fuel filter with a filter wrench to get it to stop leaking air.
