7.3 with a C6 trans

Transmission question for someone! I am installing the 7.3 in place of the 6.9 mating to a C6, is there a lock up converter available for the old C6 trans?

Unfortunately no lock-up is available for the good old C6. The lock-up requires at least some form of computer control.

To bad, but I might disagree with the computer control for the lock up as my AOD makes good use of the lock up feature without controls.
I thought for sure there would be one since the Uhaul trucks from 95-98 used a C-6 behind the Power stroke, it must be lock up! I will have to do some research! Just thought it would save time to ask!

Here is a bit of advice that I learned the hard way. The flywheel from a 6.9 and a 7.3 are different. maby it's because the 7.3 I instaled had a factory turbo im not sure but I scattered the flywheel. Also, ford did not put a C-6 behind the 7.3's as a rule. Most of them were the E4od or whatever they were called. In order to get the correct flywheel for my '94 7.3 IDI to go into a C-6 i had to order it direct from ford at the tune of around $275! No one makes it in the aftermarked world! It may save you some headace down the road to look into it while you have it apart. Steve

The C6 was available to fleet buyers behind the 7.3L through the '96 model year. U-Haul didn't buy E4ODs until '97 when the C6 was no longer available.

And why would anyone think that U-Haul had lockup converters in their C6s? They didn't. They were the same as all the other C6s, no lockup. Nobody has made a lockup converter for a C6. You could be the first!
