7.3 cylinder head bolts?

Is there another source besides Ford for these? It's like $160 for the set from them. ARP doesn't make them, nor does FelPro that I know of. Any other sources for these? Thanks

No way in hell I'm paying $600+ for some studs unless they come with a harem of nekid women who will install them for me. I'm doing a head gasket job on my tow truck, not building a 2000hp tractor pull rig. I'm looking to spend less than what Ford wants as $160 for a set of bolts is high in my book. Thanks though.

Tried that already (coincidentally, there is an IH/Mack/Kenworth dealer right next to my local Ford dealer). They're actually more than Ford at around $220 a set.

LOL Man I understand that too, I wanted He's stage 1 injectors but something got on the way and could not get them . You can get them from the stealership for $160 and have the same results everybody else does. Now some times you can get smocking deals on fleabay.

Yeah, I already spent $150+ in gaskets, $400 at the machine shop to redo the heads, $200 for 8 new injectors (since 2 were broken anyways), $40 for return hose and nipple kit, $80 for glow plugs, etc, etc, etc. At this point, yeah, what's another $160. But DAAAAAMN this is getting expensive. All because of a blown head gasket. If this wasn't a tow truck, I'd be even more P O'd about it, but it's one of those things that HAS to be done.

Re: 7.3 cylinder head bolts?

hey,I'll do your engine if you do mine.......little over 700 for IP and injectors,900 for brand new heads,600 give or take for pistons,440 for reman turbo rods, couple hundred for rod prep,Not to mention gaskets, bearings, crank and cam recondition,lifters,rockers,pushrods,880 for block work........and this is just for a slightly upgraded and strengthened 7.3L.I will NOT go into the "Other" build.....OUCH!

Re: 7.3 cylinder head bolts?

What makes you think you need to replace the head bolts? BTW, Kens studs are 270,000 psi and your stock head bolts are 153,000 psi. You can reuse the studs over and over but at some point reusing the bolts has to stop. They do get "tired".....

Because they're TTY bolts. Supposed to be replaced every time. Plus a few of them were actually somewhat loose, indicating to me they may have stretched over the 15 years and 160k miles of use. I'm not worried about getting anything that is reusable though as I will NOT be doing this again.

On the upside, I did find them. Victor Reinz (the gasket company) has them. My buddy who did the heads (owns a machine shop) found them from one of his suppliers for around $110 a set. About $50-60 cheaper than Ford, and probabaly the same bolts too. I'll post the part# for you guys when they show up in case anyone in the future may be looking to do a stock rebuild.

Re: 7.3 cylinder head bolts?

I don't think they are TTY

Try Napa, they'll be cheaper.
