7.3 mating to T-18 part numbers?

Okay, I found a 6.9 to T-19 bellhousing on eBay, and everything I've found says the T-18 and T-19 are identical as far as stick-out, etc.
Now the question:
I need to know part numbers, etc. for the flywheel and clutch. I'm putting a 7.3 to a T-18. I went to Advance Auto Parts, and they have a solid mass flywheel for a 7.3 ($700 less than dual-mass) and an 11' clutch hookup.
The question is, will that work with a T-18, or do we think it is for a 5-speed? Or, will I just have to try it and find out?

Thanks!

Re: 7.3 mating to T-18 part numbers?

I'm not sure how well a T-18 will work with our diesels. Keep in mind a T-18 is a non-syncro version of the T-19 (if I recal correctly), and we don't use T-19's. We use T-19B's The B gives us the correct gear ratios.

Re: 7.3 mating to T-18 part numbers?

I'm not concerned with the gear ratios. I plan on installing a Gear Vendors trans splitter to give me higher gears. Not to mention the T-18 is already in the truck.

Re: 7.3 mating to T-18 part numbers?

I used a Perfection clutch solid flywheel for a 7.3, with a 12" clutch for a 6.9 (1.125" spline) and had the flywheel custom drilled for the pressure plate. Some pressure plates will hit the bellhousing, so check your clearances before starting the engine, or you may be looking for another bellhousing.
I recently did this swap in my '94 with a Ranger overdrive coupled to a t-18.
