7.3 turbo IDI exhaust

I have a 1994 Turbo 7.3 IDI I want to put a different down pipe As well as 4" exhaust or bigger. Will any year power stroke match with the IDI as far as down pipe and exhaust?

Re: 7.3 turbo IDI exhaust

Unfortunately, you the kit will not work. You could McGyver it to work....everything except the turbo downpipe. You may have to relocate hangers or stuff like that, but no big deal.

Your only other option is to buy a DP from Banks. I bolts right on to the turbo and is 3" outside diameter at the end. From there you can mate it to whatever exhaust you want. I intend on connecting a 3"-4" reducer on the downpipe then going with straight 4" out the back to a 4" mandrel bent tailpipe...no muffler. May need to use a small chunk of stainless steel flex pipe to get around tranny houseing, or get a pipe made up at the muffler shop.

Re: 7.3 turbo IDI exhaust

I took the powerstroke exhaust and made it work for my truck (except the downpipe) needed a few cuts but it wasnt very hard and only took maybe four hours.

Re: 7.3 turbo IDI exhaust

By the time you do the math on the crushed/smashed part, probably about 3/4 of an inch!!! j/k I think it is less then 2 1/2 not by much though.

And I grow asparagus.
