7.3L IDI Oil leaking #8 Cyl.

Org. Problem Post #s 3294503 04/02 & 3299706 04/07 Finally got to road test today. Started engine-Metalic knock at #8-pulled injectors at 6 & 8 DRY Pulled GPs at 6 & 8 OK. Pulled rocker cover, everything OK there. When speeded up knock disappears. Drove 1/4 mile all of a sudden blue smoke like Heck drove another 1/4 mile turned around drove home total 1 mile driving. Temp. normal- coolant in radiator was cold probably just before thermo opened - started engine back up - exhaust smoke blue - smoke behind engine oil dripping on exhaust SHUT HER OFF - 5" spot of oil in driveway. Oil is coming from bottom of head gasket predominately at 6 & 8 -- 2 & 4 is dry. WHAT NOW ? Try retorquing the headbolts in that area and see if they pulled the threads or the gasket squished down and is loose now, or something or other?

Double check the rocker cover bolts for starters.......

There is also a possibility of a precup being loose..... ask your mechanic who did the valves did he remove the precups and did he reinstall in original holes.........
