89 to a 2001 turbo

I have a 89 dually truck with a 7.3 non turbo with e4od trans,
Is it possible (without to much headache) to install a 2001 7.3 turbo w/e4od in its place ?
I have found a great deal on the turbo engine set up.
Thanks

With enough time & money,
anything is possible.
How deep are your pockets?

Is the current engine a problem?

Re: 89 to a 2001 turbo

Besides the displacement and bellhousing pattern, the two years are completely different engines. Not a single part is interchangeable.

While it is technically possible to do the swap, it would take a donor truck to get the wiring harness and computer from, and probably quite a bit of custom wiring.

If all you are looking for is a turbo, any turbo setup from a 6.9 or 7.3L IDI (94 and down) will fit your 89 engine.

Re: 89 to a 2001 turbo

Nothing is wrong with mine at all, I just thought for 2000.00 us dollars it sounds like a great deal. It is complete from the intercooler to the transfer case. It has 80k miles in it.
O well sounds to complicated to me
Thanks
