89 alternator wiring question

I have a 89 idi the alternator went bad and someone has broken the socket so i cant tell which wire goes to what, two wires go to a T (the plastic t is missing in action) any help would be appreciated i cant find a wiring diagram anywhere that is any good, Thanks,

So do you have an orange and a black wire which go into the socket.........

Is one wire verticle and the other flat.........

From what I see labeled on my picture ....... the field terminal (orange) is the (front) verticle one, the stator terminal (Black) is the (rear) horizontal one.....

Someone please confirm my info so I do not blow his alternator.........I'm working from a picture.....
