92 bumper versus 89 bumper

hey im getting really frustrated trying to find a decent winch/grille guard bumper for my 89 f250. every place i go does only back to 1992. whats so ^&* @$^! different or inferior about the 89 that they dont make a bumper for my truck? do any of the other years work for the truck? HELP!

I tell you what its even getting hard to find stuff for the 92-97 trucks not impossible just hard so I built mine myself but if you can't do it your self you may have to find a good fabricator and go custom built [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

the 92-97 ranch hand types will work with a few hours of modifacations. thats what I have on mine. if you get the bumber that bolts to the factory bumper hanger it will mate up but you will need to make the bumper (from top view) like this: ------ from: \_____/
thats the part that butts up against the grill. if you dont use the factory bumber hanger you will need to make new arms and cut the ones off as I did on mine. i beleve they will need to be widened 2 1/4" on both side 9not 100% sure)..... also you can cut the middle tube out of the side that goes around the headlight to make it look "right"....... if you are somewhat good with a torch and can weld a little it can be done in a day or less..............Gibson
