93 f250, are they ok?

looking at buying a 93 f250 with the 7.3 in it. It has 200k on it and is a work truck. buying it to use as a plow truck. It has already been used as one for a few if not more years. Should I be concerned and not buy it? Or if like anything else if it was half way taken care of i should not have too many worries. thanks for any input, i don't really know how reliable the older ones are since all i have owned is my 02 dually.

Tell us what it has for a trans, obviously it is a 4X4. Check the rad for SCAs being used in the coolant......

My 93 is doing fine, just had some body TLC and I intend it to be in my stable for 5 more years or until I win a Lottery. Nice part is NOT many electronics so major cash outlay at the dealers is almost non existant.

it is an auto that has been rebuilt at some point in the last 3 years also they said the rear brake lines need to be replaced. it has the usual rust on fenders, etc.

I've got a 93 I bought new, it has 253K miles on it now. Very dependable. Personally, I would never buy any truck that someone else plowed with. Unless something was done to the front springs the weight of the raised plow can be rough on the suspension.
The weight of the engine makes the 7.3 a great plow truck - I don't even need anything other than highway treads on mine and don't hardly ever get stuck.
Look to replace the rear fuel tank, fuel lines along the side rail, brake lines if the truck has seen salt. I spent $3,500 on body work and another $3,300 on a rebuilt transmission back in 04.

pball if the trans was rebuilt was it "upgraded" which is a major requirement for any E40D built before 1994/95. Got a picture of it...... is it reg cab, super or crew.

eBay Motors: Ford : F-250 (item 230302673797 end time Oct-28-08 15:10:44 PDT)=

that is the truck in question. I am only buying it to use as a plow truck and to drive around in the winter. he wants around 3700 outright. not really sure if this is a great deal, but the heat works, plow works and 4x4 works which i figure it should be worth around 3k to 3500 at least.

Looking at the listing, I can't understand how anyone can drive around with the rear brake line crimped off.........that says a lot to me as to how the rest of the truck was maintained.
