k&n's are ring destryers--i now own one from it--and am rebuilding it at the moment---flow in independent tests between stock and k&n is only 1%--is it worth it--not to me-----

Where is your proof that a K&N filter destroyed your engine? I have ran one for over 10 years in my 6.9 and my Turbo Diesel had one I know of for at least 4 before I owned it. Neither burn oil, and oil samples turn out fine. With proper maintenance, the K&N will work just fine.

Re: 94 IDI Intake

My intake is pretty sweet and easy to make. I just used 3" PVC pipe and a couple elbows, with a K&N air filter on the end. Once I got everything fit right I just used PVC cement and it's all sealed up. My buddy works for a pipe insulating company so he scored me some fiberglass wrap and some aluminum duct tape. Wrapped the fiberglass first, then wrapped the PVC in tape to keep from staining/tearing the fiberglass. Looks kinda cool...yet also like a baked potato haha.

Re: 94 IDI Intake

Use aluminum irrigation pipe...if you want, spend the time to wetsand with fine grit paper and polish it so to a mirror shine. Then clear coat it...looks bad to the bone...I did it to a buddys 04 Dodge.

Re: 94 IDI Intake

Hmm- I never thought of the aluminum pipe. That's a cool idea, but the major problem I see with that is aluminum is an excellent heat absorber- any power gains would be negated by the heat introduced to the intake air.
