Additional Alt. pulley -where's link or member with links????

I remember seeing it somewhere on here about adding an additional pulley to get rid of the belt eating flip flop and I cant seem to find it anywhere, coming up with nothing on search. Now that I'm becoming an expert at ripping the front half of this thing apart I figure I might as well fix the belt problem before it causes a 460 nightmare of eating all the belts and losing my brakes.

thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Additional Alt. pulley -where's link or member with links????

There is a link in my "Signature" at the bottom of this reply. Also go to member "dlblack" Gallery. He has photo of the pulley and the Autozone part #.
Just remove the bolt from water pump and replace it with a 3/8"-16 x 1-1/2" bolt. Find a bolt with threads all the way to the head. Then get a 3/8" -16 Heli-Coil, use a Dremel tool to cut off the tang. Then thread the Heli-Coil onto the bolt all the way to the head of the bolt. Heli-Coil is to take up the slop in the pulley hole. Pulley OD cannot be larger than 4". Use flat washers to space the pulley out to line up with the belt. Belt still flops some, but at high rpm it smooths out a lot. It take much longer to round up the parts than to install. Nothing needs to be removed or loosened except the water pump bolt. Have fun. OkieGringo

Re: Additional Alt. pulley -where's link or member with links????

IHI I got the pully at at AutoZone parts store. I have the part number on the photo of the pulley in my photo gallery.
I am sure you can find the pully a longer bolt and a few washers.
It is so easy to do and works great.
