additives

Has anyone try sea foam for a additive? its suppossed to be really good for cleaning injectors, stabilizing fuel and getting out water, carbon around the valves! I know that most of us use freds hair tonic! just want to know if anyone has tryed it and results [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

Ok some please fill me in on the hair tonic thing. What does it do and how much do you use per tank?? Seems odd putting it in the desiel won't hurt the engine?/

Have never tried it but if it works anything like their carb cleaner and bug be gone products then it should be pretty darn good. Tried the bug be gone for the first time a couple of weeks ago and boy oh boy was I surprised... Made the front of ye old truck just clean as a whistle. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img] Gotta get some more and do the front of the RV.

Seafoam will cause a motor runaway if poured down the intake. It was talked about here some time back. It acts like fuel so the govenor wont control the motor speed. I understand it will clean the oil the system but I wouldn't use it on a high mileage motor because if it breaks loose some crud and plugs up the piston oil cooling jets the motor will burn down. Some here add it to a tank of diesel without any problems too. Just don't pour it down the intake..... [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]

89 7.3 crewcab w/ Banks Sidewinder Wastegated Turbo. 4 inch straight piped. BTS E4OD trans with 2 extra gallons of ATF in a Mag Hy-Tec pan. Gear Vendors. Rodney Red custom aluminum radiator. Moose Pump with "G' injectors. Motor rebuilt with new after market ported heads. Mahle low comp pistons milled 12 thousands. Balanced to 1/4 to 1/3 gram. Lined bored. Block decked and sleeved on all 8. Shimed oil pump for higher pressure. Intake and exhaust logs ported too. Hypermax in shop waiting to be installed later....

SEAFOAM Nope I ASKED already!Standyne can be bought almost any fuel shop that does stanadyne fuel pump repaires!
