Aero fuel tank install
Hello. I just finished installing an Aero 45 gallon tank where my spare tire used to be. I poured 10 gallons in and the fuel gauge seems to be correct since it shows about a 1/4. But when I take the key out, the fuel gauge rises near 1/2 tank. Could this be caused by a wire grounding problem at the sending unit?
The original sender had 2 wires going to it. A yellow and a black, I believe. I cut the yellow and connected it to the post on the sender. I left the black wire alone and grounded the sender from one of the mounting bolts to the truck frame.
Should I connect my ground wire to the original black wire or just leave it attached to the frame?
Anyone done one of these tank installs before?
