Aftermarket fuel selector valves

I found a couple of possibilities that look like they may do the job. A Pollak Part# 42-159 and a Niehoff Part# UN52.

Does anybody know if these will work for a dual tank (straight diesel) setup. I know the fuel line connections are different but what about the basic function or the valve itself, gauge switching function and the wiring connector?

Re: Aftermarket fuel selector valves

I know nothing about the Niehoff valve but the 6 port Pollak valve is almost a direct replacement for the factory selector valve. The only two differences are the fuel and electrical connections. The OEM valve uses push lock connections and the Pollak uses barbed fittings and the Pollak has different shaped pins on the electrical connector, in order to use the pollak you would have to cut the plug of the harness and splice on the plug that comes with the pollak, they're both wired the same way, just shaped different. The valve portions look identical and I believe pollak makes the valve that Ford uses.

Re: Aftermarket fuel selector valves

Thank you. That seems like the way to go.

Autozone has a similar 6 port motorized valve made by Wells for $58 but I haven't checked it out.

Re: Aftermarket fuel selector valves

Speaking of the FSV's on our trucks, and also this Pollak replacement unit, do any of you know if these are B100 (biodiesel) compatible?

Looks like I am going to have to replace fuel lines soon, and was going to go ahead and upgrade the oem FSV and the rubber lines to Viton wherever I could. If this Pollak valve has neoprene o-rings in it, B100 would eat them.
