aim headlights?

How do I aim my new headlights? They look great and I can see at night. But they need to be aimed.

Safest way for you and us is to have it done by a pro using correct tool...

DS, did you get the email I sent you? It's not "rocket science" to aim headlights. OkieGringo

Re: aim headlights?

Every shop that does vehicle inspections or body repair shops are required to have those headlight aimers up here.......

Okie's info is probably as good and a lot cheaper.......

DS.....FYI you can buff those old ones up with chrome polish and wax them after like me or.....there are kits for that too... about $15 probably on the USA side of the border.

Re: aim headlights?

Ya,
That is what I have heard, but I was in a parking lot the other day talking to a guy with one new one. He was trying to fix the other one. Do not know how that came out. Guess I could try buffing them up and passing them arround.

Re: aim headlights?

Has anyone really been able to clean up the headlight lenses? I have tried all types of cures and at the end of the day, they are still yellow and have a film.

Where does one find replacement light lenses...at a good price?

Re: aim headlights?

I got mine from ZBRA motors on e-bay. Still about $100 ea. If you do that, they have the LH, RH, and the set is discounted from the single price.
They gave me good service with some door lock motors that I bought from them also.

Re: aim headlights?

I'm pretty sure the plastic changes color from continuous sunlight exposure, it's not dirt/scratches on the outside, it's that color all the way through.

Re: aim headlights?

I didn't have much luck cleaning/buffing mine either. I ordered new ones from Parts Train, $29 bucks each. I briefly looked today at changing them out. How do you get the headlamp assy out?

Re: aim headlights?

When I replaced mine I just took some carefull measurements from between the frame and the plastic on the headlight assy. and they came out nearly the same as the old ones. I think I took 3 measurments, one by each mounting screw. I guess that assumes the old ones were right, anyway it passed inspection and they seem just fine.
