AIR CANISTER ?????????????

I found today that the steel air canister is rotton on my truck. Will this affect the running/start up of my truck or be the reason the cruise control does not work??

Do you have microsoft word? That is the format that zigg made the pages into. Try saving the document then opening it up off your hard drive.

Re: AIR CANISTER ?????????????

Travis,
I had the same prob with Zigg's page. Having similar problem as greg with no cruise. Not sure tho if it was something left off on motor exchange. Can't see anything out of ordinary tho.

Re: AIR CANISTER ?????????????

I opened my rusted can to see if there was any reason why I paid the dealer the extra money. They put several spider like supports inside the can to prevent it from flattening out under vacuum. It may be a extra precaution that isn't really needed or maybe the metal is so thin the it gets sucked flat. Just an observation.

Re: AIR CANISTER ?????????????

I replaced my vacuum reservoir with a new one from Ford. The new reservoir is smaller than the original, but seems to work just fine. After replacing the canister the truck seemed to run the same, but the speed control came back to life.

Re: AIR CANISTER ?????????????

The new air canister got my cruise working. Stealer wanted 60$ for a new one. I fixed it with a 99 cent juice can.

Re: AIR CANISTER ?????????????

I'd have laughed in the dealer's face and brought him an empty coffee can the next day.

Glad you fixed her up.
