Air in fuel

some how, some way there is air getting ino the fuel system on my old IDI. There are no fuel leaks i have installed a check valve in the supply line proir to the fuel filter, that always fixes the poblem on a detroit, and some how if the truck sits for a a day or two the fuel disappears and the fuel filter is about half empty! What is going on here, I am stumped. This problem started a while ago, but at the time the fuesl heater plug was leaking, i removed it from the housing and welded the hole shut.

Visit........ Ford diesel 6.9 7.3 IDI look for the clear hose info. Look on my photo link to see the fuel inlet seal for the filter and filter outlet to IP inlet on the steel lines. One point air will enter where diesel will not show.....
