Anyone ever thought about putting a pulley in our v-belt system to remove some of the slack that the alt. belt has. Mine jumps around quite a bit have even had one jump upside down in the pulley before and believe me the belt was tight! I replaced the idler pulley(serpentine belt) on my wife's suburban a couple months ago and was thinking about making a bracket to hold the idler against the belt to take some of the jump out. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to add alot of drag by pushing the idler hard against the belt, just enogh to keep it from flopping so bad.
Any thoughts?

Boy I should have thought of that 10 years ago! You can't believe the number of road calls I've had for thrown belts. Most times downshifting hard. We keep them tight beyond specs and check them every two weeks but still have problems.

i know Baja made a bracket: clicky
(click on the 'see all user's photos' link
also, as subtly suggested earlier, try going to the photo link & then searching "willietwo"
you could always search 'idler' or any word you think one might use to describe their pic (or username)...
