Another lift question
I've had an ongoing project over this winter with my '92 F-250 4x4. I installed Energy Suspension bushings on the front springs, shackles, and axle pivots. I also bought a Tuff Country 2 1/2" suspension lift, which leads me to my next question hoping someone here has installed this kit on their truck. I have the same kit on my '84 gasser which consists of axle drop brackets and a progressive four leaf spring pack that is added to the existing two front springs. I bought the diesel kit for this truck, which is identical with the exception of an extra fifth spring in the leaf pack. Now here's the situation:
On my truck I have three leaves in the front on each side. There are the two long leaves along with a small leaf about six inches long on the bottom of the pack. To my knowledge this is stock but I don't have another diesel truck of the same vintage to compare to. The directions with the kit are universal, they say just bolt the progressive spring pack onto the bottom of the existing springs. It wouldn't make much sense to leave the small six inch spring from my stock spring pack sandwhiched between the longer springs of the lift, and that one spring is shorter than all of the others including the springs in the lift pack. I'm wondering if I should just leave it out entirely or move it to the bottom of the lift pack so it rests against the axle housing. Has anyone installed this kit on their truck and ran into this problem?
