Another one of those Turbo Questions!

I had posted yesterday asking if anybody knew the A/R numbers for a current Hypermax Pulse Turbo for a 7.3L IDI. I was trying to find out, as I had a line on one on ebay that was supposed to be a new in box replacement for the Hypermax pulse turbo. I went ahead and bought it, as another person was showing a very keen interest in it at the same time. I figured on swapping it into my used Hypermax non-pulse system that I just put on. I already have the pulse style manifold pipes and turbo mount.

I don't have the turbo in hand right now, but the A/R numbers from that Garrett T04B are compressor A/R .64 and turbine A/R 1.32.

I just received an email reply from Hypermax, who said that the factory Hypermax Pulse turbo for a 7.3 IDI is compressor A/R .7 and turbine A/R 1.15. Anybody out there know if these numbers are similiar to the numbers from the Banks and ATS systems?

I guess I may have made a mistake purchasing that one!

My question now is this: can this new turbo, with A/R's of .64 and 1.32 be run SAFELY on a '93 7.3L IDI? If so, will it have more low end turbo influence, or will it be at the top end.

I am going to complete the purchase regardless of whether I can put it on. If it is safe, I got a good deal on a new turbo ; If it isn't safe or practical to run, I'll put it back on Ebay and try to get my money out of it. Thanks for the help in advance,

Bill
