i might be buying a 94 turbo for a parts truck and put the turbo on my 93 but i think the truck might be a powerstroke? the turbo is the same brand as the strokes and the engine has diff valve covers than my 93 the tag on the inside of the door says mand for ford in 1994

I have a 1994 factory turbo IDI and yes, my turbo says Garrett. It is the company that makes the turbos for ATS. Although, powerstrokes are also garretts I believe, but it should be easily distinguishable between a stroke and an IDI...If it has a ton of wires then it's a powerstroke. My motor looks just the same as yours with the exception of the turbo...there isn't a whole lot different. If the valvecovers are different, then it's a powerstroke. The valvecovers for IDIs from 6.9s to turbo 7.3s are the same, except the turbo 7.3s have a breather on the driver's side valve cover. Also look at the 8th VIN number- if it's a K then it's a 7.3L factory turbo. If it's an M then it WAS a 7.3L n/a...Can't remember for the life of me what the VIN for a powerstroke is... if it is a powerstroke you can noit put that turbo on your IDI. it will make too much boost. 20+lbs. besides, a powerstoke with out a turbo would be worse than ahvin a lawn mower motor in it...............Gibson
