Any Experts Around?

South Jersey. Any of you guys around here live close or know a good IDI mechanic around? I would like to take my recently purchased truck to someone for a good going over and answer my questions and educate me on this engine as far as mods and maintenance. Love the truck so far but I am not impressed with power. I bought it from the original owner and have all maintenance records and upgrade documentation. Let me know...
Thanks
Dave

Re: Any Experts Around?

What you probably need to do is turn up the fuel but do this only if you have a pyrometer and don't let the temp go above 1050. Pistons melt at about 1225 deg. If the pyro is off just a bit and your pushing the temp just a bit things will melt. Most here will run 1050 all day long without any problem. I see you have the Banks exhaust. Look at the pipe that comes off the turbo. Is it kinda flat. If so replace it because it causes lots of restriction and low power. Has the turbo housing been upgraded? If not change it too for more power.
