Anyone in Boise Idaho

I am broke down in Boise and not exactly sure what is broken. Seems like something in the drivetrain. I am not sure where to take it. I am looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Sean

Re: Anyone in Boise Idaho

Ok just found a good diesel place and dropped the pan on the tranny and found out the tranny is burnt pretty bad. I am looking for a good E40D tranny in the boise area.

Thanks, Sean

Good with a warranty 3 years would be the Ford dealer, put a new cooler on it and a Magnafine filter.

Re: Anyone in Boise Idaho

You could start with Barger Matson 208-853-2002, They have one out of a 90 for $850 here . I do not know of anyone personally that has one laying around. Another is Pioneer Diesel but they are in Caldwell not sure if you are stranded or limping. PM me if I can help you out personally I am about 45 minutes from Boise.

Re: Anyone in Boise Idaho

Thanks guys. I ended up talking to Aamco and they will rebuild, flush cooling system well, pay for towing, warranty, and include labor for a good price. The price is comparable to a rebuilt tranny alone. I did a lot of homework and wasn't able to find many rebuilt trannys for less than $2000-$2700. That wasn't including labor.

I also had a fuel leak caused by the new low sulfer fuels at all of the pumps. That fuel sucks, less mileage and it wears on the fuel system. Hopefully this is the last of my problems for a while.

Thanks again.
