How does the ATS downpipe connect with the turbo housing? Mine is leaking exhaust. It seems that it is just shoved up in there. Is there a better way to make a positive seal? Also, is there a source for a larger downpipe? Mine looks to be 3", do they make a 4"? I can't seem to find the ATS homepage.
The ATS downpipe is just shoved in there as far as I know. It doesn't use a clamp, just a bracket to hold the pipe in place IIRC. I'm not sure what would be best to stop one from leaking, perhaps try calling ATS.
A 3" downpipe is plenty big for the amount of air this engine moves. You'd probably loose performance with anything much larger (that, and no one makes a larger downpipe).
good luck

The only way that I found to stop the leak was to replace the two cast pieces. ATS said that they rarely leak because carbon fills the gaps. When they are new it is a very tight fit. Nice and quite now.
Good luck,

Couple of thoughts on having a loose fit (eroded housing, or slightly shrunken pipe)
-Clamp a round "dolley" in your vice, and work the diameter of the portion of the down pipe that fits the cast bore with a ball peen hammer to expand its diameter slightly, measure progress with a vernier caliper.
-Eyeball the amount of pipe that fits into the housing, and using some of the exhaust insulating product known as "clarwrap", add and clamp a couple of wraps just far enough down the pipe to push against the housing once its tapped into place. Carbon will fill it but this would help create the dam. (some engine people use clamps with this fiberglass product at manifold joints to help initiate sealing.
Just a couple of "back yard" procedures

How about using high temp silicone??? At the plant I worked at they have a red silicone that can withstand really high temperatures and was used on gas turbine outlets to aid in sealing. Try Graingers or an other industrial supplier to find it.
