Is it a steel or aluminum pan? If you hit a steel pan it bends and keeps holding oil. If you hit an aluminum pan it breaks.
If you have a 2wd you can switch to a factory late model 4x4 pan and gain about 1.5 quarts and a drain plug.
IMO good cooling is better than more capacity. More capacity simply delays oil overheating, since there is more oil to heat up. There is little air flow over a trans pan, so the cooling there is negligible, even with a fancy finned pan.
