ATS vs Banks?

what would you choose?

One strongly over the other? I understand they put out very similar numbers on these idi's

input?

ya any turbo will be about close but ats is stock i think but who cares if you can say i have a banks

but the only way to increase power if you have a turbo is a much larger turbo so id base on price/package

banks has a better package but is more costly
and a used or only the turbo could be a cheap solution if you had pipes made up

for example banks has a kit with exhaust, e4od chip, turbo, intake , airfilter, etc. ats has a intake filter and turbo maybe a downpipe thats it

just read ur sig

ur e4od is a reman ? to stock or was it modded my c6 was totaly over hauled to be much better and it had different shift points the changed shift points would affect a banks trans pack for me but if urs is stock youd be ok also the banks transpack will account for the turbo shift points

i think banks claims higher hp and trq too but its a less user/mod friendly system than ats

an ats will be easily acceptable to propane injection or a ram air setup while banks is engineered for just banks components

my trans was upgraded to the all the grades i could find... the shop did increase line pressure but my **** points would prolly be off a bit since it was made for an NA idi.

i didnt know that last part that you posted... ats is more acceptable to ram air and propane injection? (i would assume water/meth injection too). that makes me like ats a bit more... since ram air was def something i've wanted and i've glanced at those injections a few times too.

no disrespect but where did you hear that from?

if its for a n/a engine a trans pac will help from banks but an ats will account for the shifts within the turbo

the ats turbo is more open to different shift points (cannot find a better way to explain it, ill check back when i wake up more)

the ats turbo will be sloppy in its shift points in these trannys so if you dont chsnge shift points in the trans itll be smoother

the meth/water are more ats things too
banks is engineered for max proformance with their kits and nothing else ats will engineer the turbo to be generally good in all areas including mods like water/meth injection

the ram air youll only notice a difference if its true ram air like a scoop from under the bumper puting air into the turbo with a filter in there somewhere and itd be all pipe no air box or anything. there youd notice a difference the banks will lag down a bit when the trans shifts the ats will not

youre not disrespecting at all thats understandable

well i was looking into the same thing but i didnt know if i wanted to use power adders and if the banks trans pack worked for my c6 (says for e4od)

so i called banks many times and asked around finally i got a guy who really knew his stuff and i asked him to try to sell me on it then sell me aghinst buying a banks

that along with some net searches on other fourms

and from what ive tried ats is not too happy when you ask whats youre flaws

ats is built for you to add parts to as in larger pipes etc. if you add larger pipes on a banks hp drops a bit

also ats will be able to provide a larger turbo if necessary banks will not have one
the larger turbo will be welcome if youre towing a fver or anything large

It's 6 one, 1/2 dozen another. I'd go with which ever one happens to be a better deal for you. They both force air into the engine - period. Neither one is more condusive to water/meth, propane, intercoolers, etc. And a turbo isn't going to do anything to change your shift points, the TPS does that based on throttle input (your foot), and the TPS is adjustable. What a turbo will do, is give you more power and your truck may not need to downshift whereas is may have needed to prior to having a turbo during certain situations (towing, long hills, etc.). I bought my truck used with an ATS turbo already on it and it runs pretty strong. Hypermax is another turbo that is cheaper than both of them. Ford used ATS's design for their factory turbo trucks starting in 1993.
