Not very difficult at all, would probably take a long weekend (maybe more). I have a complete 5 speed swap right here waiting for a buyer. And the best part is... I live just to the south of you in the great state of MISSOURI (sorry shameless sales pitch). Anyway, I do have a complete zf5 swap if you are interested. Now getting back to the original question you will need the following:
1. diesel zf5 (gas tranny WON'T work)
2. flywheel and clutch setup (most prefer a Single Mass Flywheel conversion)
3. Clutch and brake pedal setup from donor truck
4. Slave cylinder and reservoir
5. Spacer between engine block and trans (1 inch spacer used from factory)
6. Lengthened driveshaft (zf5 is about 15 inches shorter than E4OD)
7. zf5 crossmember (different than E4OD crossmember)
8. Either a steering column from a manual truck or modify your column to work (remove column shift, delete PRND21 selector, modify neutral safety switch)
9. Manual trans shifter "hump", or modify your auto "hump" to work.
10. Time
I may have missed a few small things but I think that covers the basics. There is also a writeup of the process that someone did a while back, I used to have it saved but I guess I lost it. I am sure someone will post it up for you, or you can just search something like "ZF5 swap" and I think you will find it.
