Baja Bummer

Had a tire loose a side wall in Baja last weekend. It hapended on pavement and also destroyed my rim. I bought the truck with some tires that I should replace (2000 mfg date)the tires are 35X16.5X12.5. I could use some narrower tires and wheels. What year wheels are compatible? I am going to try to get some used wheels on ebay. My truck is an F350.

Re: Baja Bummer

So it looks like the '94 had a 6.5 inch pattern. Can anyone confirm?

Re: Baja Bummer

Well, I know one thing. Those 16.5's are getting harder and harder to find, same as the tires. I regret not switching mine to 16's when I got new tires. I have 12.5x33's. If your not running down any beaches down there you cand still run a alot smaller of a tire with no probs.Get better mileage, tires are cheaper, and it will be easier to get a good spare down there if needed.

Re: Baja Bummer

Not to change the thread too much surfvanman, but if you were possibly interested selling your current tires and rims I might be interested in buying them used. I am still looking at doing a fair amount of surf exploration along Baja. I am thinking that if I can get some used tires and rims that I will just use my existing tires and rims as mounted spares when I go to Baja. My brother used to crew for races down there and he said even in thier support vehicles they would all have two mounted spares. BTW, I surf at SanO at least once a week if you ever go up there to surf we could share notes etc...
