I've searched the archives on this but don't see any real "concrete" recommendations. Is there a good after-market setup that lets em breathe?
AND, I have to share the GREAT news I got last week: bought the truck on 9/20/06, and have been trying to get the service records from the university since. Finally, they gave me verbals at least. For $1500, I got a truck that showed 163,829 miles, but the "official" records show that it has a new Jasper longblock, clutch, radiator, alternator, all belts, tires & brakes in the last 20k miles! Might just be the buy of the century!

If you can find a Banks PowerPac air filter used in the Stinger kit from someone who had one and then decided to go turbo. It is the best for non turbo. It uses a K&N filter designed for that unit (about 1 inch taller than the K&N replacement filter). The interior was designed using a flow bench to get maximum air flow. Otherwise, use a K&N replacement and remove the "soup bowl". Your best power improvement on the non turbo is with the exhaust. Try to get a "Y" pipe from the Stinger kit. Some times they can be found in the for sale section in this forum. The factory Y is really a T and has much back pressure. The kit also has a 3 inch exhaust. No need to go more than 3 inches without a turbo. The Stinger is no longer available from Banks. I think I got one of the last ones off the shelf. It has great power at Midwest elevations but I live in New Mexico. I got good improvement here but it goes like stink in central Oklahoma. You can also increase the injector pump output at those elevations and get more power. Your best bet may be to get an exhaust specialist to make a new system if they have a mandrel pipe bender for the Y and over the rear axle. Otherwise, the bends will be much smaller diameter than the rest of the pipe.
Good Luck
Jack

Jim, I forget which turbo you got, but I'll say that if it is a Hypermax (just for the benefit of maybe those of you who have a Hypermax) which uses the factory air cleaner, the power pac will be too high, and your hood won't close.

Hey Jim;
What are you asking, and do you have a pic or 2? What is the condition? I am definitely interested.
Thanks,
Ray K.

Mel, I have a factory ATS turbo, wish the factory air N/T cleaner would work but don't think I can fab up it to work. I would like to find the factory air cleaner box for the setup as my turbo did not come with it.

what size is the "Y" pipe from the Stinger kit, and is it stainless? I just e-mailed Banks and asked if they possibly sold replacement parts for the Stinger kit (like a "Y"). You just never know; they may have "Y" pipes.........
MagnaFlow has a stainless exhaust kit from the downpipe back (4") for the 1994 F-250 which would probably work for my 1992 with just a little modifying where it would attach to the "Y".

Jim a good option for you would be what we were calling "Godzilla air". It was the ATS equivelent of Moose Air. Should be able to find it with a search.

You should still be able to get just the Y pipe from Banks. I got one about a year and a half ago for one of my trucks. I believe it was $170 delivered to my door. It's all 3" and has a much smoother transition at the junction than the factory T pipe.
