actualy pretty easy, it was off a crew cab truck, so abit long.. but ti worked out to be the right length after i took out the muffler. I just welded the two pipes together where the muffler would have been.

Well I did have FUN and I did sweat alot. there were times that I was NOT having fun. But it is done. Biggest problem for me was loosening bolts and nuts that were 14 yrs. old factory tight. Just for fun I did start it with just the downpipe installed. SWEET, LOUD, LOVED TO TURBO WHINE!!! after I installed the muffler it is just as quiet as stock. If you get into it, it does sound deeper and you can hear a little turbo whine at the back of the truck. Windows up and it is QUIET in the cab. Now I just have to have the muffler shop fab and install the tail pipe, I can't bend 3" . Here is a bunch of pictures. Look at the stock DP and notice how much it is crimped.

Good work, glad the patient and surgeon both survived. Thanks for the pics, I wasn't aware the ATS upgrade includes a larger exhaust impeller housing, I thought it was just a bigger 3" cast outlet for the 3" exhaust. I also thought Ford used the stainless braided AeroQuip line for the oil galley to turbo oil feed like in the ATS kit rather than steel tubing. By the parts comparisons I bet you notice a big difference in towing power.

Can't wait to see how she pulls the 5er. Around the block it sure got up. Our "test" will have to wait about 4-5 weeks as the wife is now alt. juror #3

Wow, sounds like a big-time interesting case. AS A SIDE NOTE AND OFF TOPIC: Any of you guys with a warped sense of humor such as myself have just got to go to the "Other Technical Questions" section and click on the can someone photoshop this for me link. For maximum impact start at the top and please scroll down slowly. Gott'a love BobR!

I have 4" downpiped exhaust with a hi-flow muffler on my 94 idi turbo. it really howls in 4th and 5th gear. and since it comes out right behind the cab you really have to roll up the windows to drown out the howl. sounds like a damn semi on the interstate. i was expecting more of a diesel throb less of a whiny howl but it is still pretty great.

I ran my truck with no muffler once. I decided to cut the baffles out to help flow untill I can put a real exuast on. Its still the stock one Anyway ran it up and down the road once without the muffler and loud would be puting it lightly. Im sure everyone was awake after that as it was kinda late but I could not resist

I ran it "around the block" at about 8:30 A.M. Saturday. Of course I had to see how loud I could get in a block or two Tried to "break the back end loose" on the last turn, darn duallies...to much rubber on the road, or not enough power................yet!
