I've been wanting to fix my driver's door window for a while now. The glass keeps coming off track when I roll it all the way down. In addition, it could use a new panel. Rather than repairing everything, I've been thinking of throwing on some '93ish doors with the newer panel style. Does anyone know if the newer doors will fit on the '90 body style? Could end up cheaper if I can find them in the junkyards.

I believe doors from '83-97 will fit. As long as the truck it came from is the same body style (or from the '80's), it should fit.

The doors will bolt on just fine, however the door panels are made to match the dashes of each generation, and they will look funny mismatched. The mid 90's dash and door panel are made to "flow" together.

I think the outside body lines from 80-96 are all the same, but like Roboto said, the interior panels are different, and the vent window is a little different on the 92-96 model so it'll clear that "flowing" dash. It might look strange but it should work. The window track is integrated with the vent window assembly, it's probably rusted away down at the bottom (mine were) or the rubber/felt window guide is cracked/rotted.

Thanks for the info guys. The styling of the dash never even crossed my mind. I will just stick with the same style so it doesn't look fugly. If the current dash wasn't so hard to remove I would swap that too, but it's a pain.

To fix your original problem, you could find a good door from anything up to '96 and transfer all of your hardware into it. The metal door shell should be the same, and all of the stuff (power window mechanism, door handle, interior panel, etc) should transfer over onto the other door. You could just hunt around in the junk yards for an 87-91 with a good vent window assembly to fix the window-off-track problem. It's not bad to remove in the field, you can do it all with hand tools. When searching for mine I found differences between mine (86) and a couple with 87-91 body style, so that is year specific.
