Re: Bosch glow plugs

Aloha Dean,

The ONLY GP with a proven track record for our engines is the original Motorcraft ZD-9 BERU plug.

We know Autolite should not be allowed to market a plug. In fact, tt would be great if you *could* sue for consequential damages. There would be a few chaps on this list that would have gotten new engines for the trouble those stupid plugs caused them.

The BERU plugs are made in Germany. For all I know, it is a product Ford farmed out to Robert Bosch (after all, how many GP making-machines can there be in the world?).

Why screw around with what we know works?

I don't know about the availability of the BERU parts in Hawaii but there is mail order from AutoZone and they do have them. So will your local Ford Dealer.

Re: Bosch glow plugs

Dean, as Carmine points out, The ZD-9s are the consensus choice among the experienced folks here. I just picked up a set last week.

You might want to have a look at this page, with some informal, uncontrolled, but nonetheless interesting tests of various GP brands near the bottom...

Fiver hitch, fiberglas cover set, and mesh tailgate soon to go on sale - I'll be towing a travel trailer with it and intend to put a shell on for solo camping and gear storage. Thinking about a Gearvendors OD. Pics as soon as I finish cleaning her up!
