The first couple of times i use my brakes they are normal and after that the brake pedal gets like a rock, is the any way to test the vacuum pump and how much vacuum should it have? The truck is a 89 F-250 4X4 7.3 TURBO. Any suggestions or ideas on what to check out next? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Usually the best you get is 4-5 pumps before the vacuum is depleted. Think about it who pumps their brakes when stopping......now reversing down a hill that is another story so be prepared.
