A/C in Cab Drip and Belt Squealing

Hello all,

I have two problems that have developed over the summer. I have been driving in the corn fields a lot which leads me to my first issue. My A/C started dripping condensation on the passenger side of the Cab. I've been around combines shelling corn, so my first thought was that the drain was plugged with grain dust since the vents have been blowing it on me for some time now. I took out the blower motor and sprayed high pressure water over the coil using the garden hose and a little Simple Green cleaner to loosen things up. I also took the cover off the heater core to let any excess water flow back into the cab. The drain is clean and has had a coat hanger run through it. All is good and clean but the condensation is still dripping. It seems to be coming from the shutter hinge for the A/C-heater temp control right to the left of the heater core. I am clueless as to what to do. I'm scared to go on any dates; for fear that I will leave the ole girl with wet feet

The other problem I have is that my serpentine belt is squealing when I goose it and let off or kill the truck. This is extremely annoying especially when pulling up to a group of clients on a farm. I had a vacuum pump go out earlier this year and the belt tore up the idler pulley. I replaced it with one that appeared to be a hair smaller. The belt started making noise at that time. Since than I have tried a new tensioner assembly, a smaller belt, and checked all other pulleys. Still cannot get it to silence!

Any and all input on these problems would be excellent.

Thanks!

Re: A/C in Cab Drip and Belt Squealing

My first suggestion would be to check the area between the rad and the A/C condesor for chaff and crud. Seen too many rads and condensors with a bucket load of garbage stopping the air travel required.

Check with your Ford dealer see if has this kit...

Idler kit

Idler pulley, 2 covers and bolt Motorcraft # YS 262

If the belt is too long or your idler is too small then you will get a squeel on shutdown, the engine stops faster than appliances ie alt etc.

I use a GATORBACK poly-v belt GDY 406112
